Hi, I got a letter stating that I have a refund and I should call a number to confirm my details. Is this genuine?

Possibly not genuine, check here for any refunds Sky owe you - Sky Bill | Sky.com

It is difficult for us fellow customers to say for sure without seeing it but if you left Sky and your account was in credit then it might be a legit letter so what does the online bill here show, is there a credit on it:

https://www.sky.com/manage/bill/

If there is it will say something like "Account Balance -£30".
