Getting charged for receiving a picture message

Hi There,

Does any know why you get charged for receiving a picture message. I find it totally unfair that you're charged 40p for receiving a text message that has , what they class as a picture message included in it, and you've no idea of this until you've already looked at it. I thought you only got charged for sending one.

@Strongbow50 It's completely fair if your sending/receiving picture messages, it is detailed in the Sky Mobile Tariff list which is available to view online for all to see.

I understand being charged for sending a picture message but paying for receiving one I don't agree with. If I knew there was a picture in the text and I was going to be charged there could be a warning saying so , then I could delete the message without opening it if I so chose. I got one the other day from someone I didn't know and end up paying for it. That's my gripe!

@Strongbow50 There is never a charge for receiving an SMS / MMS whether you're in the UK or roaming.

If you've been charged £0.40p for an MMS it will be because you've sent one as opposed to receiving one.

The number that text me , I checked it and there are only 3 messages between us and I definitely only text him , so I was charged for receiving his message which looked like a multiple text , he sends out regularly to many people. So I was definitely charged for receiving it.
