Film4 channel isn't working.

For some reason channel 313 Film 4 screen is black and yet the i button shows the list of programs on that channel in picture form. Yet this is the only channel that has a black screen to it as 314 Film4+1 is normal and working well. No other channels does this, why?

I can manually input it but its 313 channel is staying black, I need to call them up... Thanks.

This sounds the same as the problem I'm having. For the last few days, 'Film 4' is not picking up any signal, and simply shows a dark blue screen, just as with those other channels that haven't started tramsitting yet.

Oddly, 'Film 4+1' is working fine, as are all the other channels I'm entitled to watch.

@AnthonCP have a read of this link that should explain the problem as this is still causing problems for some of the channels affected

I was just talking to the support line. Seems it's a rights issue, currently being blamed in Brexit. UK channels such as E4, Channel 4, ITV are already being pulled from some IE customers, and the BBC ones are set to go later.

Film4 HD is working here no problem. I have no idea why I get Film4 and others are not.

I was told that there is an "audit" of each user going on, and so some have lost 'Film 4' but others haven't; I believe they have permission to keep 'Film 4+1' until this has been settled.

The pulling of E4, Channel 4, ITV, etc., already affects some but not all users. It looks like we'll be losing more channels until some agreement has been reached over UK channels in IE.

Just in time for Christmas, right 😞

Sorry that previous post is awful misinformation. Channel 4's network of channels are suffering "technical issues" right now. No end of the world conspiracies.

Film 4+1 is the alternative for Irish subscribers without the HD pack for the moment.

I am quoting Sky IE support. If you think that's misinformation then contact them. Film 4+1 is the channel; channel as Film 4 but simply delivered one hour later.

@AnthonCP as that was written in January 2021 I think that article is referring to when the ITV channels were removed along with a number of radio stations. I may be wrong as there were a lot of changes for Irish customers back in January

The other difference is Film4 is available in HD and Film4+1 is SD only.

What I want to know is why some are having trouble where some (like myself) are not. I don't get subtitles on Channel 4 HD, but I do get Channel 4 HD. I Also get Channel 5 where I now see the small square in the upper right showing white and black triangles in the square. Channel 4 shows a white line in the upper left. These are the HD channels. None of the 4/5 group of channels are no working. The music channels are not broadcasting what they should. But the other channels seem to be working. I'm not having a problem with the sound or picture other then these artifacts on screen in the corners.

Calm down and read GD1's post and follow the link to find out what's going on.

As for no contact, that's very much wrong. Go to https://www.sky.com/help/home and click on Need more help? and you will find a phone number to call Sky.

@Hoohaa Film4 is not a Sky channel so you are directing your complaint at the wrong company. Only a minority of the channels your Sky box can recieve are broadcast by Sky. Channel 4 use a company called Red Bee Media to manage a lot of their technical services their broadcast centre had a serious emergency last weekend that has no been fully fixed.

Thee are 2 separate Film 4 services one for the UK which seems fine and a separate one for Ireland which may be still having problems. It would help if people posting say which market they are in.

I have found that CNN is impacted by the fire. When I tried CNN HD and CNN SD, I just get a blank screen.

Is that actual fact? Or assumption as you're getting a blank screen? It's working fine for me...
