Sky, Prime and Jvc Amazon tv

Bouht a Amazon 4k JVC tv. When watching prime through the sky app picture quality on dark scenes is terrible.The wifi signal is really good and fast 60 mbps connection with bt.

I have reset sky, prime and the tv with the same problem. They all show good wifi connection.

On brighter scenes the picture is good.

If you bought a JVC Amazon Fire TV why are you using the Sky Q app to view Amazon Prime? You'll always get better image quality from the native app on the TV, especially when it's running FireTV OS.

If you insist on using the Q app then make sure you have both the box and TV set up correctly - ie are you outputting 2160P 10bit? Does the TV need to have the HDMI port set to some form of enhanced mode to receive the HDR signal?

Thanks for such a fast reply. Unfortunately I didn't understand most of what you said but I use sky because it's easy. Netflix is fine just prime?

@broan+qpr I would first familiarise yourself with the TV you purchased by going through the user guide as this will have all the info on that settings do what for your TV.

@broan+qprThis will have an Android OS, but Amazon's version.

There do not seem to be any specific HDMI settings but there are various "colour" settings cinema etc so trying different ones of these may help.

i did try that but still the same. It might be the tv because i get a little whatching sky and netflix but prime is really bad

Judging by your photo it looks like a combination of very poor image compression, hence all the grey blockiness across the dark areas of the picture, and also quite bad backlight bleed from the TV itself. The bright areas along the bottom left and right of the screen are making the black bars of the image much greyer than they should be. This is nothing to do with Sky, just a poorly manufactured TV.

If I were you I'd try and get it swapped for an alternate model.
