Sky Q remote partly working

Hello my sky Q remote stopped working yesterday I have changed the batteries to new ones it still works but I just have to be about 4cm close to the box to work? It won't turn the volume up anymore and the light on the remote won't come on but it still does as it should i just have to get up right to the box to use it? Definitely not working like when I first got it as it worked all over the house and now I can't even sit on the sofa and use it

Try this first

Try resetting and re-pairing the touch remote

Press 4 & 6 together on the remote until it’s LED flashes four times

Then press 7 & 9 together on the remote until it’s LED flashes four times.

Then press 1 & 3 together and follow onscreen instructions to re pair

If that doesn't work time for a new remote. You can ask Sky for one or buy one from any retailer line Amazon or Argos.

Its only about a month old do you think sky would replace it? I don't think I would want it in anymore if I had to replace the remote every month! Haha
