      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi, I recently got a new 4K Tv and have no audio when watching 4K or SD channels. Audio is fine on HD channels.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I have the following set up connected via the appropriate ports and using the correct cables:&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;sky Q 2TB&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Sony STR-DN1080 AV Receiver (HDMI)&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Samsung 75" Q60T (HDMI 2 - eArc)&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Ive tried setting the Sky Q digital audio autput HDMI setting to Dolby Digital and Dolby Digital plus but no joy. Both Dolby Digital settings provide audio on HD channels only. The 'Normal' setting provides no audio at all on any channels.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;On the receiver, I've set HDMI in 4K scaling to 'Auto' and eArc to 'on', and the SAT/CATV signal to "Enhanced Format".&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Any help would be much appreciated.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;hi&amp;nbsp;&lt;a href="https://helpforum.sky.com/t5/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/2795620"&gt;@Pjkeary&lt;/a&gt;&amp;nbsp;,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I have to admit this seems a strange one - normally people have problems because their equipement can't decode DD and always get sound with the PCM Stereo signal output when set to normal.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;If your AV receiver can pass through the full 4K signal then I do normally recommend plugging the SKY into that and then allowing pass through to the TV (this tends to reduce the risk of Lypsynch problems but others do have their preferences)&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;in this case, however, I suggest we try to determine if there is a fault with your SKY box - plug your SKY box directly into the TV and do not switch on the AV equipment (maybe even remove the HDMI connecting them via the ARC channel) just to see if your TV gets any sound with the SD channels or when you set the sound the sound output to Normal&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Depending on what happens then we can perhaps suggest other things&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;hi&amp;nbsp;&lt;a href="https://helpforum.sky.com/t5/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/2795620"&gt;@Pjkeary&lt;/a&gt;&amp;nbsp;one thought - although it may not make any difference.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;If you have not already done so, I suggest you do a power down reset of your SKY box&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;Use the remote to place it into standby mode&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;Then remove the power to it (either switch off at mains or remove the power plug)&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;Wait at least 30s&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;Then re-apply the power &amp;amp; wait for it to fully restart - this may take a few minutes.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

Only HD channels output Dolby Digital signals the SD channels use a type of signal called PCM so you amp needs to auto detect the signal type rather than be set only to play Dolby audio.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
