Sky Q remote and Panasonic JX800 Android TV - power off

I've just purcahsed a Panasonic JX800 series TV, this includes android tv. THe Sky Q remote does work however the power off function seems to activate the shutdown option rather than putting the TV into standby.

A short press on the Panasonic remote activates standby, a long press activates shutdown.

It looks like there is some update required somwhere to get this to work properly (or some setting I have missed). The problem is that once you use the q remote which instigates an android shutdown you then get a dialog box on the screen with ok or cancel (which you need to find the tv remote to get rid of) and the tv obviously does not go into standby.

Any ideas welcome.

Also I have tried all the Panasonic remote profiles on the q box, only profile 1 seems to control things properly (other than the power off).

I'd suggest that's a problem for the Android developers at Panasonic to solve: the Sky remote is just generating an IR pulse containing a very basic binary sequence.

I think Sky actually will need to look at creating an updated profile as panasonic must now be using two different IR codes one which invokes standy and one which invokes shutdown.

@Spoo00n Sky do update remote profiles but it takes time but we know Sky talk to TV manufacturers and exchange kit. It may depend on how Panasonic has programmed it if there are two distinct codes it can be done but if it is one code with two timings it may not as the TV control function on Sky remotes is pretty primitive.

Can the Panasonic remote control the Sky box? My LG remote does a pretty good job at that surprisingly enough.

Yep I get that.

The Panasonic remote does not control any of the Q functions.

Its something we can live with but would nice to see a solution at some point.
