Hi I've recently moved house, it's a new build with full fibre wired throughout each room. Sky engineer came to install sky Q, the box is the corner of the room yet the TV is on the wall. He said I need a hdmi ethernet converter which I could get in currys. But currys don't sell them, I have no idea what I am looking for and no idea how to install. Any advice would be welcome. Thanks.

@sneddin1980I wonder why he did not put the Q box nearer to the TV, he should have put it where you wanted it. However it depends on how far the TV is from the box. A standard High speed HDMI lead should work up to about 5M.

The house has been wired so the sky dish leads come through on the opposite wall to where the TV is on the wall.

Are you hoping to get UHD through that? If so, you're going to have to spend a reasonable amount: something like £80-£100 as a minimum. Get proper external boxes, not the HDMI-Ethernet plug things: an example of what should be adequate hardware is this, but I'm not recommending that product in particular (although I do like the brand) It's frankly quite an expensive way to do the same job as a £5 HDMI cable....
