Swapping Sky Q mini boxes for Sky Q pucks

I paid £50 each for my additional Sky Q mini boxes. I'm looking to move to Sky Glass. Will Sky exchange my paid for mini boxes for Sky Glass pucks or do I have to pay for the pucks. If so this seems a real disincentive to switch. Also, do I have to return my paid for mini boxes?

@NAMREG the payment for each Q mini is not to buy them it was a "set-up" fee. Legally they always belong to Sky and will have to be returned when asked or you will be charged a "non-return" fee. All Q kit has to be sent back they should contact you after a month of owning Glass with the instructions of how to do that.

When you buy Glass and opt for the £10 per month Whole Home pack you currently get your first puck free and you can buy up to another 5 at £50 each. The Glass Streaming Pucks and Glass TV are your property to do with what you will but unlike the TVs the pucks are unusable if you stop subscribing. The TV can be used as a basic dumb TV. You can legally sell Sky Glass kit if you want.

Still grinds my gears that Q has to be returned even if you paid for it. If I recall I think I paid almost £200 for mine - I may be mistaken it's been a while - as an early adopter, plus a separate setup fee, then they started giving them for free. The free ones I accept are Sky's property but I want my £200 back if they're having the box 😂😂😂

@WoodyQ be prepared to be frustrated unfortunatly as the kit has to go back or you will be charged non-return fee which by the by still will not transfer ownership to you legally. Its all in the contract terms you accepted. See https://www.sky.com/help/articles/charges-for-not-returning-sky-q-equipment

Given Q kit requires Sky to authorise it although you sometimes see Q boxes offered for sale they can be bricked by Sky at any time.

@Chrisee Oh I know I'll be frustrated / disappointed. But I honestly don't know how these companies - not just Sky by any means - get away with charging you for equipment, sometimes a decent amount, then insist you give it back cos it was never yours. So what did I pay them £200 for?

It would be nice to at least get an offer of some of that money back as a gesture that's all. On that note I'm going to go and talk to the jelly babies some more, they are calling for me 😂

@WoodyQ sorry but read this document which you have agreed to when ordering Q and weep. I used to manage advice centres for a living and had to point out regularly that the small print mstters a lot and we ignore it at our peril. .
