SkyTalk Voicemail - Number of Rings

Hi,

I have a problem that my SkyTalk landline phone only rings a maximum of 4 times (normally it only rings 3 times) before going to voicemail. Unfortunately this is often not long enough for us to get to the phone to answer it.

I have contacted Sky and they have checked the line and said everything is normal and they have no way of changing the number of rings before the voicemail kicks in.

I don’t believe it is phone issue as I have unplugged all the telephone and internet equipment and it still only rings 3/4 times before going to voicemail.

Can anyone out there tell me how many times their phone rings before going to SkyTalk voicemail?

We have had SkyTalk voicemail for 10+ years and never had this issue. We got a new contract with Sky around 2 months ago and this seems to coincide with when the issue started.

Does anyone have any ideas how we might get it to ring longer before going to voicemail or what the issue maybe?

Not as yet, drew a blank with Sky customer services who said everything was fine.

I was hoping that someone in this help forum may have had an idea of how to solve it.

I may try Openreach next.

It's not a fault, and as Sky have told you the number of rings can't be adjusted, it looks like there's nothing further you can do.

My complaint is that it has just recently started behaving this way and we have been with Sky for over 12 years.

By all means raise it with Sky. But given what they told @Patricia+Wallwork they may not be able to do anything about it.

Hello Everyone.

As this has only recently become an issue for Sky customers.. that means something has changed. and if something has changed it must be able to change back,

. Its could be its BT or Openreach who own the line . and threfore not a Sky issue .

But when you raise it with Sky . they cannot find anything wrong . because its not there problem.

A answermachine is not the answer as sky 1571 cut in before your home answer machine can record a message .. it will only get sorted when enought Sky customers complain about this issue .

Because we got nowhere with Sky we cancelled their voicemail service and used the built in answer machine on the phone itself.

That's eminently sensible, IMHO, not least because your built-in answer phone is free and Sky Voicemail isn't.
