Hi I've recently purchased sky glass, but I'm miffed at the fact I can't get my local itv regional news! Does anyone know if this is going to be added? I'm only able to get Granada region which isn't my region, with sky q I could get my own region (border)

A quick search in the forum re ITV regions will show that ITV have yet to add all regions, these will be added by 2022.

ITV have confirmed to me Q4 2022. So some time between Sep and Dec next year. They are clearly in no rush

True, they took an eternity to add ITV to 103 in the early days of Sky Digital/Sky +

Glass is not a replacment for Q and doesnt have all the same channels. You just need to be sure Glass is for you and meets your needs before jumping on board with it. What it is not at the moment is a replacement or any sort of upgrade to Q.

@bemak187 Disagree with you here. When sky said that ITV was launching it would be natural to have presumed that viewers would receive their local ITV channel. No mention was made that only certain regions would launch. This was disingenuous of sky.

We all know it's no sky q but it's probably the way of the future watching tv. The only real difference is we can't record on it. We should be able to get the same channels as sky q !!! Ridiculous that we can't , what's the hold up on adding these other channels, makes no sense at all

The future of TV is indeed IP based but not solely though Glass. The channels being missing is down to licencing. Streaming needs a whole new set of agreements signed. I do agree that sky kind of positioned this as the future but at the moment Q is a superior service.

It's down to the channel owners, not Sky. Thats the reason.

@bemak187 the missing ITV regions has absolutely nothing to do with licensing. It is down tk technical infrastructure and cost

So they can have them on sky q? What's the difference having them on glass? We are paying the same subscription? It's sky tv so what's the difference streaming it to sky glass as opposed to sky q? Makes no sense to me !! Same company different tv ..

Surely you must know what the differene is between these???? Sky Q & + are Satellite delivered channels, Glass is not.

It is also down to the channels themselve to agree Online carriage on Glass. Just because it's on platform doesn't mean it should be on another. Things are not as easy as you seem to think. Sky cannot just add missing channels that they have no responsibility over.

@Anonymous Licencing for streaming vs broadcast is totally different. Same with local recording vs cloud. That is the main reason for the majority of "missing" channels on Glass.

@pringle73 ITV uplink the channels to the satellite but they are not streaming them so they Glass TV cannot receive them. Quite why is unclear but it is down to ITV there is nothing Sky can do. They cannot unilaterally start streaming the missing regions.
