Sky Glass - ITV Player

I understand that you have to pay to skip adds on sky glass although it's free for the 1st year. Does this apply to content pulled off ITV Player as you can subscribe to that separately to have it add free via ITV itself.

Skys ad skipping does not apply to any catch up apps.

Yes I get that. But if you watch sky q for arguements sake, you don't have to log directly onto a catch up app. You download and watch. I assume glass is the same in that respect but you stream instead of download. Going onto to the app via sky glass OR Q is a different thing

Yes on glass you must sign into itv hub in order to stream the content.

@Maverick1975 I have ITV Hub+ which includes no adds. Find it works much better than the basic ITV Hub. No forwarding through the adds required as they are automatically removed. Better than the basic App and having to fast forward on Glass. Have also done simular with the All 4+ App. Hope that helps.

So its if you want to watch anything from ITV it automatically takes you to the app now? Gotcha.

How do you download ITV hub + please? I can't see it on the apps? I have such a fraustrating time with ITV hub. It constantly crashes in the middle of programs and then you can't get it back. Worst streaming service by far in my opinion. And as I have Sky Glass now, I can't just record the programs and watch them, I have no choice but to use this awful streaming service!!

You can't download apps to Glass.
ITV Hub+ is the same app as ITV Hub, you just pay a subscription to have the ads removed.

Sign up for a free trial of ITV Hub+ on the ITV Hub website and see if you like it. You use exactly the same login as you currently use for ITV Hub on Glass.

@nsa11 I haven't tried it yet but I will have a go at upgrading to it and see if it helps.

If that doesn't work I will go directly to ITV I think, as it's just so infuriating! Things like this make me miss my Q box 😭

The ITV hub app was supposed to have had a major overhaul towards the end of last year. However if it was updated it doesn't appear to have solved the problems a number of users have posted about on here. Personally I have ITV Hub+ and have not experienced anywhere near the number of problems as reported. It maybe that I've been lucky? One big plus for me though is that it allows me to fast forward at a speed of 120 x normal!!!. Finally it is also worth noting that ITV Hub is due to be replaced later this year with a new app called ITVX so it will be interesting to see what, if any, improvements this brings
