topic BT Fibre 500 Halo 3 Complete Wi-Fi vs Sky Ultrafast Plus (400-500) in Archive

Hi

I am considering switching fibre from BT to Sky. Originally moved to BT when full FTTP was available in our area and BT were the only company offering it, but now Sky is offering this at a much cheaper price. Having spoken to Sky and BT, BT are unwilling to budge on the pricing, saying that Sky's package is not comparable. The reason they give is that their complete Wi-Fi (I managed to get 3 discs out of them) is better than Skys option of broadband boost which I believe is just an enhanced router with no additional boxes in the house. As we live in a 3 storey house this would be a concern for me especially as the router would have to be located in a downstairs room rather than a central area.
Anyone else have experience of a similar issue?

Thanks.

The WiFi Guarantee part of Broadband Boost allows a subscriber to claim one or more separate booster units if wireless speed is below 3Mbs in any room: that's a narrower definition than BT apply. Sky also don't have the option of failover to a cellular data connection on their domestic product as BT do ( although it is available on Sky business broadband).
