Wifi speed too slow for security camera

Hi,

We have recently bought a Ring security camera for our back garden, however the wifi speed is not fast enough for it to work properly. It's attached to the wall outside the house so technically doesn't fall within the Broadband Boost description to get a free booster, however would I be able to get one?

Presumably if the speed within the nearest room is below the WiFi Guarantee threshold, then yes: you'd have to call Sky and go through whatever their diagnostic process is.

You can just buy a one off booster from Sky if they wont give you one for free

Thanks guys - that's what I suspected. The speed in the kitchen (the closest room) isn't below the speed where I'd get a free booster so I guess that's a no-go. A bit frustrating as wifi cameras/doorbells on the outside of your house are pretty common but I understand that the T&Cs don't cover it.

@jamesn123 do you know how much Sky charge for the booster and how I would go about ordering one?

A WiFi extender from TP Link would be cheaper..

@cuke thanks but tried one of those before and it was terrible - I had to constantly reset it for it to work, and even then its performance wasn't great.

3rd party extenders do not play well with Sky hubs or as a matter of fact often are just terrible in general
