We are due to get fttp in the coming months and once we do i have been told by various ISP that my current provider which is sky won't be able to supply fttp for maybe up to 12 months as BT has priority on my new line for that period. BT are nearly £10 per month more expensive than sky and over a 2 year period this will set me back an extra £240. This sure can't be right and isn't that a monopoly by bt

BT as a telco/ISP can choose to purchase additional services from Openreach, just like any other ISP can. What they are not permitted to do is benefit unfairly from Openreach being a separately managed division within BT Group: if they are then Ofcom would like to know about it.
