unkown devices connected to my hub

Hi,

I've checked my sky.. internet speed... it came up with 15 devices connected.

I'm unsure as 1 of the devices listed came under hong kong bouffalo lab ltd.. bl606a0.

Anyone got any ideas how to check/remove these unwanted devices ?

@jonsafc73 Only devices that are ethernet connected or via wifi with the wifi password can connect to your hub.

Yeah thats right mate.

i also have a tp -link showing.. so why is it that 2 devices are connected

Yep. If they are part of your lan network they will reappear. If not then they won't show

@jonsafc73 the hub reports connected device by mac code and the string the device returns when queried. Devices with say a wifi connection and also are connected bybethernet will have different mac addresses for each connection so will show up twice.

The string is often the maker of the network hardware rather than the brand of the whole device. Where you see "unknown" that simply means the hub did not get a reply to the request for a name which can happen for various reasons and is nothing to be concened about. If people have managed to connect to your network by using your wifi password their devices will be listed in.the same way as your own are.

@jonsafc73 Mine show that as well and its smart bulbs for me. I couldnt work out why i had four devices from an unkown name and realised thats what i had in addition to apple/amazon/other devices showing on the network
