Asus RT-AX56U set up help

Hi,

I have purchased the above router to replace the sky black box. I have fibre to the house and a small white box on the wall which connects via ethernet to the current sky modem router, I believe the white box on the wall is the "new" modem.

I have flashed the Asus router with Merlin and have used wireshark to find my atskydsl username and password for the option 61 client identifier, it was different the previously suggested 12345 etc.

Can anyone show me their working Asus router WAN settings as I'm struggling to see where I've gone wrong.

There is no longer a requirement to wireshark. The client identifier will differ because its largely comprised of the mac address

Client identifier (option 61)

Anything@skydsl|anything

Whilst waiting for the image to be moderated the only other details are

If vlan id is showing enabled, disable it . Theres no vlan on fttp

MTU = 1500

Query frequency should be normal

The @skydsl looks more like @skyds1

Its l for lima

Also you may as do the query frequency normal not aggressive and mtu 1500

Thanks for the responses so far no luck.

Have swapped the client identifier over to

Numbers 1-8@skydsl|Numbers 1-8

Put 1500 in the WAN MTU box and swapped the DHCP frequency to normal.

Is there anything else I could have missed.

The white box you're ethernet to, is that a standard mastersocket with g.fast on it or a larger white box with pon, los,tel and port written on it?

Maybe switch the asus off for 1/2 hour and try again. Meanwhile i need to check whereabouts the vlan id tag is on the asus

Have rebooted both the modem and the Asus router. Check if that actually is a modem once the mods approve the photo if you don't mind.

Thanks for the help Cookie, I ended up resetting the Router to the default Merlin installation position in case I'd fked about with any of the other settings. Short of it is that I've got the Router working and am currently responding to you through the connection.

Yep, thats the optical network terminal ,effectively a fibre optic modem which converts light to electric current and vice versa
