We're still using the batteries that came in the box for our Glass remote.

My mum, on the other hand has gone through a pair of batteries every month.

Just called Sky as this didn't seem normal and they're sending out a new remote for her.

As Glass is still new they're gathering all issues but getting support is harder and takes longer.

Sky is well aware of Glass teething issues, so hopefully they're on the case and the development teams can get out regular updates.

In that case mine, my dads and my sisters remotes are all faulty.

Iv had to change the batteries 3 times since launch, I use the same batteries (Duracell) that sky suppplied.

I can sort of understand though as it's detecting movement, lighting up keys and using Bluetooth including excessive voice requests.

Since launch I have gone through 1 set of batteries. Not a heavy user but tbh I don't think it's that bad. But my old remote would go a good 12 months or so.🤷🏼‍♂️

Did the old remote have light up keys, motion detection and a increased reliance on the voice search?

You'd think it would make much sense on the Eco-kudos front to have USB rechargable remotes, or introduce a dock that connects into the USB socket on the TV that you can drop a remote into and have it recharge via some contact method or Qi or similar.

My Mum tends to use the hello sky command instead of the remote button.

She watches a lot more of ITV, BBC, and Channel4 than we do but she lives alone too.

When there's this disparity between her remote and ours then it's like the remote is just draining battery when not being used too.

Yes, odd. Still using the original batteries in the Glass remote after 3 months, but the batteries in the Puck remote give up within a matter of, weeks - 3 replacements so far, so 4 sets in all.
