Thanks for the advice. In the end, it went down on Monday and needed an engineer to come out today to resolve. Speeds back to normal.

After faultless broadband for years, on saturday and sunday, connection was suddenly intermittent, with the broadband light on the router variously flashing orange, staying orange and being blank. Connection was very unstable on Saturday, more stable yesterday and we will see how today goes. I had an engineer booked but cancelled it when the service restored itself. But hey ho, I can understand the occasional problem.

What is curious is that my speeds have reduced by 30%. I'm on a wired connection to my iMac and I would get 150 mbps, and i would get the same speed on wifi when in the same room as my main router. This was down to 116 mbps yesterday and now 101 mbps today. Wifi speeds in rooms with the sky Q box and the 2 minis are the same as they ever have been. I can understand wifi speed volatility but not wired speed changes.

Anyone have any clues? Clearly first world problems as 100mbps is fast enough for most people...

Oh, and the sky speed history shows an unchanging 159 back out to Sept 18, but only upto 1 October, and my problems began 2 Oct. Not sure if this has any significance.
