Hey guys

I'm looking to replace my sky hub with a tp link vr2100. I have gotten my username and password using wireshark however after inputing it its still not connecting to the Internet. Whats the format of the username and password when putting it in the Internet setup is it just username@skydsl and then password below? Also should the cat cable coming from the openreach box be plugged into Lan 1?

@PancakeBassPanda

If this is a full fibre fttp connection then firstly you would have to set the tp link to wireless router mode in advanced settings in order to bypass its own dsl modem.

Unfortunately this seems to lose the sky vdsl mer field and the only option left would be to authenticate thru dhcpv6 prefix delegation

Something the tp link is not good at. Tp links use icmp to fetch the prefix delegation for authentication whilst sky relies on the router pushing the pd out to the wan for authentication

You could screen grab the wan and lan screens to see if it has this functionality

To enable dhcpv6 pd :-

Select the WAN interface section of router GUI, then select dual-stack option WAN interface for IPv4 & IPv6, for the address select DHCPv6 (dynamic option not static), enable prefix delegation (PD) on WAN and then select SLAAC for IPv6 creation method on LAN interface

Failing this you may have to contact tp for beta software to enable it or consider a new router

Then under account setting I put my username and password for sky which I got using wireshark.. however I still get the error invalid account or password please modify it.
