PS5 lag do i need to open ports?

My sons PS5 is lagging and I'm led to believe I need to open some ports on my router. Can I do this or do sky need to do it for me? I have no experience with this. The ports that need opening are:

TCP: 1935, 3478-3480
UDP: 3074, 3478-3479

@Craigyn Lag won't be the result of ports being open or otherwise, l;ag is caused usually by wifi connections and loaded servers.

So any thoughts on possible solutions? PS4 didn't do it and my other son has an xbox which seems fine? Thanks.

@Craigyn like @GD1 I dont think the lag issue will be sorted by opening and forwarding firewall ports. The most common cause is wifi interference which can vary around your home. Ideally usecethernet cables for gaming failing that powerline adapters can help.

Second common cause is the games servers so while game a may lag game b wont. Nothing you can do yourself apart from changing. the server they connect. To as it is down to the company running the server who has to sort. Typically you will find other users complaining in forums supporting the game.

Whilst lag can be .introduced in the Sky network it is pretty rare.

As others have said, port forwarding wont help lag at all, it only helps when you cant get a connection or find a game online.

You mentioned that it never happened on your PS4, thats interesting as there are plenty of posts going around on the internet about lag over WiFi on the PS5. Must be chip or firmware related.
