Note you may need to change the ethernet setting on the hub if you are not using fully gigabit compliant cables

So am I! I can't even Ping the router IP from the Command prompt!

I have accessed the router via WiFi from another machine on our network to see if the laptop was listed as "Connected" - nada.

In the software for the TP-Link, the data flow rate was showing as around 100MB, so ensured that the Ethernet settings on the router matched the speed of the network.

Prrffftttt!

At a loss as to what to do next.

@IanTFB Sky hubs have gigabit ethernet ports which require fully wired ethernet cables if you are using older cables thst came with kit these frequently only have 4 of the 8 pins connected. Solution is to either to use new cables - you can pick them up cheaply most nearly anywhhere - or switch the hub to use "Fast Ethernet" which is 100Mb/s.

To do that using a networked device type 192.168.0.1 into a browser and hit return. When the hub's interface loads the click on the Ethernet tab you will be required to log in the user is always admin but the password for the standard flat type of hub is sky while for the newer Broadband Hub which has an upright design is the wifi password on the hub's label. When the ethernet tab loads you will see the option to switch to Fast Ethernet.

Thanks - I'd already switched that over (I think it just say "Fast" from memory - they put Gigabit on there why don't they...oh, never mind.

I say "Never mind" as I was just about to jump on here and say "Got it!" as we're up and running now.

As we run a business from home, having a fast connection is crucial - but so are our CCTV cameras. It had just got to the point where the WiFi was just overwhelmed. Far too many collisions and drop outs when I was trying to check through them - as for displaying them all together, absolutely no chance.

Their locations made it impossible to wire in - they may be less than 100m as line of sight, but getting the cabling to run properly, they'd be over the limit.

Anyway, in my case I changed a couple of things and bingo . Changed the Router Mode (in Advanced tab) to DSL only, and also ticked the check box for "enable ipv6 on lan side".

Rebooted the router, reconnected the Uplink Powerline and checked via the App "tpPLC" the things were all set correctly. Whilst at it, I checked the Channels for both WiFi frequencies with "WiFi Analyzer", fixed an overlap with next door.

One very happy chappy.

Cheers to all for assistance or posting.
