How to check speed for the Speed Guarantee?

My internet has dropped a few times over the course of a week, Im still in the intial 14 day period so maybe this is to be expected. However when I go to www.sky.com/mybroadband to test my speed it only shows an estimated speed not my actual speed. Im on fttp so it doesn't show the connection speed in the router statistics page either. I would like to avail of the Guaranteed Minimum Download Speed and possibly cancel my contract if this continues but obviously if I can not test my speed then I wont be able to. Any help would be appreciated.

The line speed isn't visable due to the ont modem being seperate to sky hub which for fttp only acts as a router.

You would need to run a series of tests over ethernet on fast.com and post them here if you wish

Fast.com is accurate and as ethernet is 90-95% efficient so we can deduce a line fault

If you are on 150Mbps your guarantee is 100 Mbps

If you are 500Mbps then it is 200Mbps

In your case the sky tests don't work as stated. We'll wait for speedtest image to come

Im on the Ultrafast Plus package so my speeds are upto 500 with a minimum guarantee of 400. It has dropped well below this a few times for upto an hour.

Is it 400 my bad. Just so long as its not done over wifi via mobile as that is likely to be connected over 2.4ghz wifi

yeah any speed test I do is from my computer thats connected via ethernet to the sky hub

That would be because it's wording which applies to FTTC and hasn't been revised for FTTP. There really isn't any good way to test full fibre speed, and ISPs haven't got the hang of how to deal with challenges that it's not delivering as it should.

Fortunately my BT FTTP typically 'tests' as slightly faster than the 150/30 it says on the tin. There's really no reason why it shouldn't, given the vagaries of high frequency signalling over copper no longer apply.

Also fttp is a bit binary either the lose of signal light is off or red . Other things if you appear to be stuck conveniently at 100Mbps would be what ethernet network adapter is on pc fast 100Mbps or gigabit 1000Mbps. Also check ethernet settings on router is set to gigabit

Yeah I actually switched over from bt had 330 with them and never had any issues. But now starting to regret doing so. Also I'm using my mobile to post this as my internet just dropped again 🤦‍♂️

@cookiemonsterukyeah ethernet link is full gigabit but even if it dropped to 100mb for some reason doesnt really explain the slow speed shown in my speedtest.net result

The last test appears to be down over mobile is this etherneted. Ideally we need 1 done on pc or laptop
