It is acceptable because there is no guarantee on WiFi speed. If you connect an ethernet cable you'll get the full speed that you pay for.

Just come from BT to Sky and really wished I hadn't, the wireless is only 30 mbps Bt was 60mbs. All of my Cctv are down and totally hacked off. Guess BT will be getting a call in the next couple of days.

Threatening to leave on the forum wont help at all. If you want help then please tell us what steps you've taken to connect the CCTV and what kind of system it is. As for your wireless speeds, these are pretty good but likely wont get close to BTs speeds.

If you dont want help thats fine but as I mentioned, saying your going to leave on the forum wont do anything.

I was sounding off that the isp provider I left seems to be superior to what I was offered, even though I have a 79mbs download speed from Sky and only just get 30 mbs. That is not acceptable to me and I thank you for your input.

@BadlyFailed if you are witin the one month Sky allow for cooling off you can normally leave without penalty (Sky offer longer than the statutory limit of 14 days). Sky may extend that period if you agree to allow them to try and fix your perceived faults.

My experience was the opposite to yours I got far better wifi speeds from Sky than BT once I had taken a few steps myself but experience varies. Suspect you will have to call Sky to give notice during the cooling off period before contacting BT to arrange the switch back.

When the bands are split you can connect to the 5GHz band. I get a pretty solid 135 Mbps download speed on my mobile when connected to the 5 GHz band.

To split the bands, log on to the hub and go to the Wifi menu. In the 2.4GHz settings tab uncheck "Synchronise 2.4 GHZ and 5 GHz Settings" then go to the 5GHz tab and do the same and also change the SSID Name (add _5GHZ or something) then hit "Apply".

You should then see both band available and hopefully you will be able to get your CCTV back online.
