Hi

I have a Sky Q 1TB UHD box, 2 x mini's and 2 x boosters.

I can't get it all to work at the same time but I can move boosters around to get it all working depending on the time of day. For example I need to put a booster in my study to work all day but then move it upstairs to my bedroom to watch TV at night.

I clearly need more boosters but does anyone know how many can be supported on one system? I think i would need a total of 4 to get full coverage across our house.

Thanks!

A full complement of Q boxes as designed by Sky would be six: Hub, main Q box, four Mini boxes (the maximum they will supply at one address), so you might get away with seven (including boosters). Whether Sky will provide them is a different issue.

@ADAMOC88 there are apparently technical limits as the number of mesh nodes increase so it isnt just Sky being difficult. There have been reports of people getting better speeds by removing boosters rather than adding more. Improving backhaul speeds to distant units by using ethernet or powerline is likely to give better wifi speeds than daisy chaining boosters.

If you need that many boosters and to move them around to get good coverage then it sounds like your home is more suited to ethernet connections. You'd have to look at getting the Sky Q boxes wired in.
