@taffey17 to clarify there is only one router as such your Sky hub the Q tv boxes do act as wifi access points relaying the Sky wifi signal but they are not routers and cannot be in conflict if correctly set up.

Not sure exactly where you have got your advice but it is back to front. The Q tv boxes are designed to compliment the Sky broadband and work together. However when operating with a non-Sky router such as one from TaLk Talk only the main Q box connects the router any Q mini's use a closed wifi link to the main Q box which can cause interference with your home's wifi.

Not sure what your issues were but the Openreach engineer was dealing with issues with your connection and any Sky engineers should have been sorting the network in your home. There are many millions of Sky Q systems working your experience is not normal.

It is probably too late as you sound to have reverted to your old ISP but it is a shame thst you did not post here when you had the Sky hub as the forum could probably have helped.

Broadband Issues/ routers

Hi there. I decided to switch to sky broadband so I could have everything on the one package. Big mistake. From day 1 I've had terrible speed. I used to have 73mbps now I have between 0-45mbps and I have to keep inputting my WiFi password on test etc. I had a new router sent out, still same problem, openreach came out and came up with a great scenario. Turns out my Skyq box and my mini box both have routers in them so the main router is in conflict with them. I've had openreach run an ethernet cable from my router to my q box to help solve the problem. The solution. Get a sky engineer out to run a cable upstairs from q box to mini box, get a bt engineer to move my bt socket or change back to talktalk as their router doesn't conflict with the sky boxes. Oh yeah in order to get my proper broadband speed I have to uplug upstairs box. Is their anyone else that had this problem and what did you do. As I think it's bull so openreach can have a quick visit.

As first step try resetiingbthecsystem from scratch following this guide https://www.sky.com/help/diagnostics/setting-up-sky-q/what-sky-equipment-do-you-have work from the hub out so connecting the cloeset box first - ideally that should be your main Q box.

You should check the actual download speed by looking in the router. If that is close to what Sky said you would get them the problem is on your local area network (lan) side. And there are known issues with sddp storms from q boxes slowing people's useable speeds. There are other people on these forums with lan speed issues.
