Sky won’t let me watch All4 programmes in SD - trying to force an upgrade to HD

I've just started to watch a series on All4 and Sky is trying to force me to upgrade my package to watch in HD, which I'm not interested in. I keep going to the "All formats" tab and selecting SD, but it defaults back to HD, with a message saying I have to upgrade to watch. I eventually managed to get the first two episodes downloaded by choosing SD several times, but can't get any further. This is so sneaky - the SD version is there, but Sky won't let me access it! Has anyone else had this issue? Or is there a way around it?

I don't know what box you have but as you don't subscribe to the HD package then there is a setting you can change to make your box download all content in SD so what box have you got ?

@akb37 Are you sure you're not trying to download Box Sets content without a Box Sets subscription?

Thanks. I've just checked, and I have access to box sets. It seems to be HD that's the sticking point - I'm offered a choice of an HD or SD download, but if I choose SD it defaults back to HD.

Press Home on your Sky Q remote and select Settings, then Setup.
Select Preferences, then 'On Demand default download format', and choose SD.

@TimmyBGood, @caesarome. And....it instantly downloaded the next episode! Many thanks. I wonder how many people fork out more for their subscription because of the HD default? They've obviously changed it on an update, as it was a new problem. Always satisfying to beat the system!
