40gb of data used for 3 HR journey using Google maps????

Yesterday on a 3 hour journey from Sheffield I used Google maps. . On average, Google Maps uses around 2.19MB of data for every hour you're on the road. So can you please explain why I had to transfer 40gb from my piggy bank and I still have an over limit amount? Thank you

Hi @Nightshade66 that sounds like something else was connected and using data. Have a look at your phones data monitor and that should show which apps have used the data. Were you streaming video or music ? Has your phone been tethered to a laptop?

Hi Ty for replying my data usage shows as 3gb for sky go and 89mb for Google maps. I did not stream movies or music on the journey nor have I ever been connected to a laptop. Even saying that I could stream 8,000 songs or watch 80 hours of videos!! Can't even get through to sky.

All we can suggest is that you call sky to see if there is an issue with your account or there was a network issue yesterday @Nightshade66 call on 150, ignore the messages and don't hang up, when asked why you are calling say "technical" and you should get to speak to someone.
