I had a call off a person claiming to be from sky technical team. He wanted me to switch on my sky device so that he could test the connection. I didn't oblige and wanted to check with sky to ensure it was a genuine call. However, I dont seem to be able to speak to a human.

Has this happened to anyone else? Is it a scam or genuine?

The call is from a scammer as Sky would never make such calls or ask you to do anything like this. This forum see posts like your everyday on here from other people who have received similar such calls.

Just had a call saying was from Sky and wanted me to give him information before he could talk to me. When I told him he must go through my ID check to prove he was from Sky he refused to give me last 4 digits of my account number saying it was covered by Data Protection and he would not even conform my email address.

He rang me and expects me to give him information NO he needs to go through my Data checks, I am a Data Control officer for my employer, I have happily given reploies when I have called them so why will they not do me the same courtesy???????????

I asked for his full name but he would only give me Tyler and his ID number 1DTP05 so do not know if he was genuing or not.

Had an email last week giving me a £5 reducion for 12 months but this persons attitude has confirmed that I will be moving from Sky after they hiked my price to £63 a month
