No, but that's just it - he didn't have any specific rationale for not drilling where I asked, other than they are not allowed to drill unless it's directly above the skirting board.

I am trying to understand if that is actually a rule set in stone, or have others been able to get a entry drill hole higher than dirrctly above the skirting board (which is roughly 10cm high)? Surely people have been able to request that they drill slightly higher?

Hi all,

I had an engineer visit my house today to install a Sky Q box, but he didn't drill the hole in my wall as the spot I wanted was too high - it was only about 50cm up the wall.

He said the only place they would drill is right above the skirting board, which unfortunately doesn't work for me as I have a radiator running along the bottom of the wall. He said my best bet was to remove the radiator, which seems like a massive hassle.

Has anyone had a similar experience?

Thanks in advance

Without knowing what your house is like, and his specific rationale for only having one potential place for the hole, it's impossible to give a view or for others to know if their own experience applies.
