A contiguous run of twin WF100 (or WF65 shotgun cable) between main Q box location and dish point should be OK, but the dish end must be where a Sky installer can reach it (and obviously it helps if the dish can see the satellite from there too ; )

Hi,

I'm currently building a self build house and want to pre-install cables for Sky Q so these are routed and hidden to avoid ugly surface mounted cables. Are sky installers ok with this or do they insist on putting in new at the visit? I would not use a media plate (I've heard this can cause problems) and would just route cables to the appropriate point required.

Thanks.

I have seen Virgin Media installer turn their nose up at pre wires although often the installers are happy it will be a quick job. As long as you have the right cables shoudl be fine. Also run as much ethernet as you can in the house, then double it. You want to be able to fully wire Q.
