Thanks Chrissie

After multiple calls and efforts to resolve this, RANTS in my book are acceptable when non-ranting efforts fall on deaf ears.

I give my hard earnt money to sky.

I know ,unlike very many that for internet there is only openreach monopoly, or mobile 4g and 5g.

I have tried all 4g suppliers and the only one in my area that works well is Three.

Many piggyback off other people and charge vastly different prices.

I use 1pmobile for my phone. It's 1 p aminute or text or mb of data.(I think vodaphone still charges 35p aminute on payg)!

Three works very well ,consistently.I got a deal off Smarty. They piggyback off Three. It is cheaper and faster and more reliable than sky who for fibre, piggyback of the openreach monopoly as ,obviously everyone does.

Makes me laugh when people ask, who are you with for broadband?

Who's the best for broadband?

The choice is openreach, openreach, openreach or openreach .

On going problems with fibre running at 3mbps.

I run health checker often and am amazed that although I know it is not working properly, they say there are no problems. That funny because an openreach engineer arrived twice yesterday and left without fixing it.

We did however get a text from sky saying it was fixed.

Isuppose that's what you call....

PIE IN THE SKY.

Farcilally, this morning, I ran health checker for broadband and it said...

We have detected 2 issues affecting your Sky Broadband service.

Reported: 13 May 2021 00:00 AM

We're improving our Fibre network tonight in South East England overnight.

@nosynosy you need to speak to Sky as that text would have been sent as a result of the Openreach engineers report if you still have issues tell Sky. Openreach may have cleared one fault but thst has not resolved your issue - it happens. If you are stuck post your hub's stats and someonecshould be ablevto seecwhst is wrong see Find your Sky Broadband router statistics

The status checker will not report an individual line fault but does report large projects and work on major network links in the SE can impact the whole country - many of the main links go through London strangely enough.

Thanks for your reply.

It's all meant to help the user of the service. But just mis leads them.

It is ridiculous and we are paying for it.

This morning the complaints dept tells me an engineer is coming on friday to RESOLVE the issue.

That's what they said last time.

They say....

Please reply to this email once the issue is resolved so that we can assist you with the credit for the loss of service.

I don't think they will give me anywhere near the about that would cover the time I have spent nor the costs and lost work time.

Now finding 4gmobile hotspot or put in a sim router is definitely a viable replacement and am enjoying you tube content for free.

So there is a silver lining in every cloud.

@nosynosy please free to rant but remember you are not addressing Sky but other customers. This link explains about compensation levels which are set by Ofcom Customer Auto-Compensation | Sky Help | Sky.com

In practice you are moaning about Openreach rather than Sky and mobile broadband has overall a higher complaint level than fixed broadband but hopefully if you do switch you will beat the norm.
