Online Cancelation Option

Why do Sky have no option to cancel services or packages online?  You can upgrade but you can't downgrade.  If you think this would be a useful addition to Sky online please respond - perhaps we can get Sky to introduce a service that would be more convenient for customers than having to phone in and be kept on hold for long periods of time.

Re: Online Cancelation Option

I would use it, I think its ridiculous that you cannot downgrade online and have to spend yet more money calling them in order to do this

Re: Online Cancelation Option

The only way you can do it is via the 'Contact Us' link:

http://www.sky.com/helpcentre/contact-us/index.html

They probably wouldn't include this as it would encourage to many people to drop packages and cancel completely if the option was right there in front of them but by doing it via phone they can always talk people out of doing it and even offer them the odd offer.

Re: Online Cancelation Option

you only get set responses from e-mailing them via that link which may not apply to the question you have. If their service was that good then people wouldn't want to cancel. Those that are talked out of it probably didn't want to cancel in the first place and were just trying to get an offer in return for the threat

I have emailed them a few times over the year about various things and have always got a reply that has sorted whatever the issue was.

Re: Online Cancelation Option

I e-mailed them and explained that  couldn't set up a direct debit online or through their interactive service as neither was working. I got a response telling me that it was possible to set up a DD through MYSKY and giving me instructions how. If someone actually read my e-mail and that was their reply then they were a complete moron so I would hope that it was a set response and nobody actually read it at all although of course anything is possible. I've also tried to call them and sat in a queue for 10 minutes before being cut off completely aparently snow affects the phone lines too

I have earlier, here is another link:

Phone them and tell them what you want to do but remember you have to wait 31 days before any dropping of channels will happen.

Re: Online Cancelation Option

Thank you for this information on how to cancel on line, further to calling there call centre and being told I would have to wait 15 minutes before my call could be answered, which I was not prepared to do, I have completed this on line form to cancel my Sky TV package but keep my Phone, line rental and Internet with them. Really furious with the response I received from call centre, very rude and unhelpful operator and at my cost, I don't think so.

Re: Online Cancellation Option

I am at my wits end  trying to cancel my subscription   I refuse to use premier rate telephone numbers  especially when they keep you holding on for ages  and then unceremoniously CUT you OFF !!    I have written to

Sky Subscriber Services, 4 Macintosh Road, Kirkton Campus, Livingstone, West Lothian  EH54 7BW

As I am about to travel to the other side of the world  I have   instructed my bank to cancel my Direct Debit  in 31 days time.  If & when I get back should be interesting to see what has happened !!

Re: Online Cancelation Option

You can't actually uncheck the boxes for the different packages, you can only add more packages

Re: Online Cancelation Option

The problem is that to downgrade or remove packages you still have to phone sky, you ought to be able to do it online.  n addition, they bill you daily so why do you need to give 31 days notice?

Re: Online Cancellation Option

To The Manager,

I Want to cancel my sky multi room. I will like to explain why. Some months back I called and applied for the sky+ and this was done as I had free installation. The advisor asked what I will do with the old box I had and I informed her I will like it to be installed in my bed room as free view and the advisor said that was fine. But when the man came to install the sky+ he said he could not install the old box in the bed room as free view as it will take a bit of time and that he will come back and do that later, I said OK. Then he did not turn up so I called the customer service number and the advisor I spoke to said yes this is true and that he will arrange for some one to came and install the free view in the bed room for me and he ordered a new viewing card for me as he said I could not use the box as free view without the card, said OK.

Then another man came to the house as arranged to fix this free view and he finished and said very thing is fine. later a got a my bill with £10 extra so I called again and was informed no the man actually installed a multi room and that I have to pay £10 extra I said cancel it they said I should write in I was very upset but later I said not to worry it's just £10 I will keep it. Then later I got a bill with £33 extra I called again and was informed the multi room is not connected to a phone line and that is why this is happening I told the advisor I am not paying this amount because who ever installed this should have known and also I did not request for multi room I requested for fee view and now this. I told the advisor it that is the case please cancel this multi room and put my old box on free view which I initially requested for. The advisor put me through to the cancellation department and the person I spoke to apologised and said I have the right to cancel this but he promised he will get some to come out and fix the problem and if this could not be fix they will cancel and wright of the £33 as I am not supposed to pay that money. last week I waited the whole day calling the engineer and he promised they will be with me soon and they never turned up and said it wis due to the weather condition and that some one is going to call me and rearrange the installation. I have not received any call from sky since then till now.

Please all I want to say is cancel the multi room and put this back on free view as I wanted because I have gone through so much and have lost a lot from phone bills calling sky and also not going to work.

As discussed with the advisor please i am not paying the £33 please I have paid my sky bill please take this off my account.

Thanks
