Re: Going on Sabbatical - Putting account on hold for 6 months

This is not possible with sky, you could either downgrade to the minumum package or else give your 31days notice to cancell the account and then since its within the 12 months that you'll be coming back you just reactiveate the account then.. so you keep basically everything set up and jus call up after your home and set up payment details again and they turn it back on! you cna do this provided you will be back withing 12 months otherwise you'd have to set up a new sky account !

Thank you for your reply - can I confirm if I cancel, will there be a reactivation charge? if so, how much?

Also what is the cheapest minimum package I can get please?

Many thanks!

Re: Going on Sabbatical - Putting account on hold for 6 months

There is no charge for reactivating the account as long as it was cancelled correctly! you would give your 31days notice , they would then take the final partial billing amount up until the end of the 31days ntoice and they then would cancell your DD ! if you do this then when you call back you will not have any outstanding balance on your accoutn so its literly a matter of you setting up the Direct details again. same card, same box, same set up etc! - cheapest tv package is 20£ for entertainment , cheapest BB is free for everday lite, cheapest tal kis freetime which is free and line rental is 12.25 as a standard!

Re: Going on Sabbatical - Putting account on hold for 6 months

Okay thank you!

Please could you downgrade me to the  cheapest package mentioned here..so free BB etc tallying just over £30.. ASAP please... Also, could you Restrict / bar any telephone calls please? as will try keep this going for my tenants in the interim & don't want them to be able to rack up a bill - also is there a way to not allow them to purchase movies etc...on my account - so if they want to do this, they can use their own card details?

Is this okay / suffient? or do you need aything further from me to action?

Many thanks!

Re: Going on Sabbatical - Putting account on hold for 6 months

hey you would have to call sky to downgrade the packages giving the 31days ntoice i mentioned previously! - in terms of blocking calls , this is not possible but you could remove the handset ! in terms of booking movies etc, only way to stop them doing this would be to disconnect the sky box from phone line sothey would have to call in to add them which they cant do as its your accoutn or else remove the viewing card which renders the box useless pretty much bar freeview channels and then when your back pop it in again !
