Hi
Some time ago, my son created an account and has linked his name and login to my Sky account. So all billing, service management can be viewed and handled by him, though I was totally unaware. There was nothing suspicious about his actions, he just had no idea what he was doing.
I've changed e-mail address, password and security questions, now I want other items changed too, as in Username, first name, last name etc.
Please let me knw the next steps.
Kind regards,
Lee

Hi DiggaTheWolf,
I'm afraid it's not possible to change the username while other personal details can be changed. Can you confirm if your son is using a separate Sky iD username and password?
If this is the case you should be able to reset your son's access by following the steps below:
This will change your sons account from a Secondary User on your account to a guest user, any e-mail account associated will remain unaffected and your son will still be able to log in with his Sky iD just he won't have access to your account anymore.

Hi
Many thanks for your response.
Unfortunately this isn't a solution as my sons account, which is now mine is the primary and only account in the profile. This account should never have been setup by him, though being 12 at the time he didn't understand what he was doing. I don't want his first name, last name or his World of Warcraft login as the profile username.
Another type of intervention is required to rectify this issue. Any suggestions?
Kind regards,
Lee

Hi DiggaTheWolf,
Thanks for clarifying this, I'm afraid if he has set this up and it's the primary user it is not possible to change this, once a Sky iD has been associated with a Sky TV account as primary user this action cannot be undone.
The Username cannot be changed however the personal details can by contacting our Customer Help team.

Hello,
I have a similar problem as have moved out of my mother's house and had set up the sky ID so I could remote record using iphone and also all pesky emails would come to me (albeit addressed to my mother!). I now cannot change the account details so that we have separate account details.
Simply changing the email details doesn't rectify it as my email address is "locked" to my mother's account and now I cannot set up another sky id to the same email address (for reasons known only to sky) so that I can link my email to my own account. Frustrating.
Any help much appreciated

I have the same problem. Its needs to be fixed. I pay the tv bill and have 5 sky boxes around the house. I stupidily allowed my neighbour use my account to use sky player on her xbox but she set it all up with her username and password as the administrator and me as an additional user. Now I have the sky go app on my phone but it wont let me use it because she is using 2 devices on her sky id account! Im furious I want to delete her account and make mine the adminsrator. Im the one paying the bill!

Hi gw1984, is it the primary iD or a secondary one on the account? If it's secondary you should be able to move it over by asking the primary user to remove it from My Sky under my profile then additional users. If you then log in and click verify your Sky iD you can enter the new account details.

Hi Simon+Tonge, it's not possible to change the username on the primary Sky iD or to promote a secondary one in it's place. However if you get in touch we can help you to take control of the primary iD once we confirm the Sky account is yours.

Hi, I am having a similar problem in trying to change the name on my account.
When I initially set up a Sky account the idiot who took my details spelt both my first and last names wrong (even though I spelt them out to him). Btw my name is not complicated!
While I have been able to change my information and billing details. I am still receiving correspondence addressed to a complete misspelling of my name, and everytime I log into MySky it gives me a welcome message to the same. This is now proving impossible to change.
I have been receiving Sky services for about a month, and I am getting increasingly annoyed thay Sky does not have the decency to get my name right. Do you not value my custom? It is rude and disrespectful to consistently address someone by the wrong name.
What are Sky going to do about this?
Clearly I am not the only one with this issue, and if this is a problem with the system that Sky uses then this system needs to be changed. This is unacceptable.

Why do I have to ring an 08442 number, costing a lot of money just to change my address details? Surely a username and password is suitable or do you deem your security settings not to be strong enough?

Hi Get+my+name+right,
I am sorry to hear that your details had been taken down incorrectly. I am glad to hear that you have managed now successfully update your billing details. As you are still receiving correspondence with the incorrect details I would suggest contacting us to have this updated.
Is your Sky ID showing the incorrect spelling of your name?

Hi,
I am staying in a shared house and I am responsible for the internet connection and services for the house. All the details concerning our account point at my details (first name, surname, contact details, username, password). However, as I am moving out from that property I need to keep all the services up and running for the rest of the housemates (no changes at all) but change all the details so these much one of the housemates' details still living in the property.
I would like to know whether something like that is possible and if it would cause any interruptions to the services already subscribed to. Please let me know what the next steps should be.
Thank you for your time and help.
Kind regards,
Pavlos

Hi veghera,
I'm afraid it's not possible to simply change the name on the contract for the services. We would need to cancel the existing contract and one of the housemates would need to set up either a new contract or a second hand contract using the existing equipment in their name.
This will mean that you will lose services for a period as one account is cancelled and the other is set up. To discuss this further please contact our Customer Help team.

Hi could I just ask how long it would take to close one account and set up a new one?
How long would the 'period' of dissruption be?
