Hi,
I cannot playback any recorded programs or set any to record error message;
System fault HP-52J sky + playback and recording are unavailable.
Also when I go on to the TV guide, my box freezes on this and I have to turn it off at the mains to restart it.
I have tried sky + rebuild (not a full reset as I don't want to lose my recorded programs) but it is not working, as my box will not turn itself off then back on again.
Any suggestions as I cannot get through to sky?

System fault HP-52J is a hard drive error. The usual way to attempt recovery is a manual reformat using the Left & Right nav buttons etc, but this will delete everything. Haven't heard of any way out of this that will preserve your recordings. Lots of stuff on Google 'Sky System Fault HP-52J'. I helped with this one last year. Maybe opening up the box and reseating the power and data cables may help, alternatively, try hooking up to your pc, and see if Windows 'sees' the HDD. If so, try reformatting, in Windows Disk Management.
Otherwise it means either a new HDD or box. Sky service call £65 if not under warranty.
