No network connection

Can someone advise why I don't receive or can't send emails away from home.  In spite of having a mobile phone signal I get 'No network connection. No signal found for mobile networks' when I try!

Hi @IWRA

 

Try turning on Airplane mode and then turn it back off again.

Also check your network settings mode - Go to settings – more options under wireless and networks – mobile network – network mode. Try to choose GSM/WCDMA/LTE (autoconnect). Once you have chosen this option try to check if you still get the same error message.

 

If the error still occurs try setting up the APN settings:

 

Settings > Mobile Data > Create New Access Point...

 

Name: Sky Mobile Internet

APN: mobile.sky

 

Save and restart phone.

Many thanks for your advice, however no luck so far I'm afraid.  The phone is a Samsung S5.  I was with Virgin where I had no issues.  The network operator on Mobile Networks is 'Sky' and the Mode is 'LTE/3G/2G (auto connect)'.  Mobile data and data roaming are both selected.

 

Networks available via Network Operators are Sky,  Vodaphone Uk, EE & 3 UK.  VPN returns 8 options including PPTP and asks for a server address?

 

The phone states 'Access point name settings are not available for this user'!

Try disabling the mobile data connection and connet to your Wifi network instead and also reboot your phone.

I rang the Sky help line and we changed the settings on the phone, it's working fine now
