Moving - Multiroom, HD

I currently have Sky+HD, with a Multiroom subscription for a second Sky HD box, although I don't pay for HD subs on the second box.
I'm moving to a house with a Sky dish connected to a single room (there are two white cables which I think means HD??)

1. Can I plug my Sky+HD box straight into the existing connection in the new house and will it work?
2. I would like to keep my existing Multiroom capability - would the installation of a Multiroom connection at the new house count as a free moving home transaction?

Thanks!

You no longer have to pay two subs. if you have two Sky+HD boxes. You should receive all your subscribed HD channels on both boxes. If you're not, give Sky a call and they'll sort it for you.

No, you can receive HD channels with one cable. If they're both feeds from the satellite dish, they'll give you all the Sky+ functionality that you have at your current address.

Yes, and yes (assuming the two cables work ok now of course)

Not sure about this. Hopefully a Sky Adviser will be able to confirm.

Thanks!

Re: Moving - Multiroom, HD

Hi ErikaSmith,

It's great to see that Mark39 has helped with your enquiry :smileyhappy:

Sky will not install a box that has no active subscription with it. The only way we could install the box is if you have an active multiroom subscription when you move. If you choose to cancel your multiroom prior to moving, you will need to have an independent installer to fit your box you used for multiroom.

I hope this helps,

Anne

Re: Moving - Multiroom, HD

Thanks for the replies. To clarify - I will have an active subscription for the second box. My main query is will the installation for this second box be counted as a free moving home installation?

Re: Moving - Multiroom, HD

Hi ErikaSmith,

I can confirm when you move home and book the installation through Sky, we will install all boxes that you have and would like installed (they must have a subscription). In your case, we would book the home move for both boxes free of charge.

Here is a link to our Home Move section of our website which will give you more information.

Thanks
