Hi,
We recently had sky + HD installed and opted to also have multi room in one of the bedrooms.
Sky HD + was fitted with no problems, however the engineer caused damage to our fitted wardrobes which was not explained by the engineer.
Our extra phoneline in is one room and we wanted the multi room in the other bedroom, he explained to me he would run a wire from the room with the phone line and out to the hall way and then into the room we wanted the other box in, i agreed this to be ok as it wouldnt cause any damage.
When the engineer left we noticed that he didnt do what he said he was going to do, he drilled straight through our fitted wardrobes and through the back of them to get the wire to the other room, so we have 2 holes in things that dont belong to us (we rent from a private landlord)
He also knocked off parts of the brick work on the outside of the house!
He was very unhelpfull and only showed us how the pause button works on the new remote and then walked out.
He didnt get us to sign anything!
Is this something i can complain about to sky???
Thank you
Jess

blimey! i'd be wanting sky to fix the damage caused or your landlord might be keeping your deposit

The brickwork damage was probably down to him drilling out from the inside, unfortunately it can happen if a brick is weaker than usual but the drilling through the wardrobe is weird. Did you warn the installer he couldn't drill internally as he seems to have taken the easiest option available to hime?
Also he may not have realised you didn't fully understand his route for the wiring, you have two options, use the "contact us" link, choose "account and billing" and then click on "complaints" and then "email us" or send a recorded delivery letter to

Hi and thank you for your replies.
I fully understood the route he was going to take (or thought he was going to take), if i knew he was going to be drilling through the wardrobe i would of sugguested another route, he also went into our wardrobe and touched all the clothes (including our underwear) and moved them out the way, the route he also took meant that he had to climb all over our bed in the other room, if i knew he was going through the wardrobe i would of moved all the things out the way or he could of atleast asked me to do this which would of made us aware of what he was doing!
He was in and out in about 20 mins, to me it seemed like the wardrobe was the quickest and laziest way for him to do it seeing as it was a sunny saturday morning!

I have just been looking through some of the messages on here and I can't believe what has just been written about the damage to the brick and the wardrobe. Firstly I'm a plumber and drill holes through walls most days and in my opinion the reason the face of the brick was blown off was because he drilled right through the wall with the hammer action on. The comment about the brick being too soft is not acceptable, if anything its easier to drill through a soft brick.
