Re: Android App for SKYgo

Dear sky advisors instead of coming on the forums and coming out with "unfortunately we have no information on this at the moment" how about you publish what you do have, the amount of threads on this issue shows there is a demand for info. If your waiting for ICS to be relies ed, or your currently working on x devices, or even what devices there are no plans to support then the feed back might be a little more civil. We understand you have to protect your liscences but the way we have been treated with regards to android devices is dispicable we where told that it would be released in the winter of 2011 only to have to wait until the end of feb with nothing being released as to why the delay or that there even was a delay is highly un professional.

It is completely unacceptable for a company to treat so many of its customers in this way. I will be taking action. In the past I have recommended sky to many people. That ends now. I now will be recommending anything BUT sky until they start to treat their customers with respect.

Re: Android App for SKYgo

Hi gt20,

We do understand that you are rather frustrated at the moment with this and we do understand where you are coming from. This is down to licensing agreements as to what we can say on here.

I will agree with you that it wasn't great how long you had to wait for the announcement of Android devices on Sky Go, however there were a few problems and we did hope to get it out sooner than when it was finally released.

I hope this has clarified things for you, however if you still have more questions then get back to us.

Regards.

Re: Android App for SKYgo

Thanks Sky for blocking Sky Go on not officially supported phones,

We weren't doing any harm just using a service we are intitled to, most of us can't afford (or don't wish) to buy an iPhone or a supported Android phone just to watch Sky on.

We weren't asking for your support or trying to defraud you we just wanted to watch TV.

Cheers!

Yes, I bought an Xperia S today as well. Same question from me, will it support SkyGo and when.

Not all of us want to buy Apple, and of course Android outsells Apple now, so it should be better supported than Apple is.

Re: Android App for SKYgo

Wonderful, been bounced between Vodafone and Sky. Vodafone very helpful. Told me that if I hadnt allowed the latest software update this weekend on my HTC Sensation (called ice cream sandwich) my device would be compatible. Apparently Sky are working on the new software but dont know when this will be abled for use. Had it for several weeks but unable to use with the new operating system. Time to get ahead of the game sky, especially with customers paying heavily for usage.

Re: Android App for SKYgo

I have just ordered an HTC One X (replacing my iPhone 3GS) and I had naively assumed that Sky Go would be available for this device straight away. Sky Go is the reason I chose the quad core phone with large screen good resolution with all you can eat data (stupid of my not to check Sky Go was available for it).

Will Sky Go be available for this device soon? Is there a predicted date?

Thanks

Re: Android App for SKYgo

I have a HTC Desire Z and I can't seem to download the SkyGo app. Is there a compatibility issue with the Desire Z or am I just doing something wrong.  I see that the Desire Z is not on the list so is there any information when is this phone will be added?

Thanks

Gary

Hi Gary+Clayton,

It's great to see you have brought your queries to the Sky Help Forum!

Unfortunately at the moment this is not a device supported on the Sky Go service. I would suggest that you keep checking here for any updates.
