Sky Go Update

[ Edited ]

We’d like to take this opportunity to thank our customers for their patience regarding the new Sky Go App for iPhone and iPad.  We appreciate that some customers are disappointed that the Sky Go app is not live yet and we are doing everything we can to ensure that it is available to download in time for the start of the new Barclay’s Premier League season.  We’re just making some final tweaks to ensure our customers get the best experience possible;  register your details to be one of the first to know when the free Sky Go app is ready to download.  You can get ready by setting up a Sky iD username and password if you haven’t got one already.

Some customers using Sky Go over the weekend may have experienced some viewing problems.  We’ve been working hard to address the teething problems online and through Xbox and we’re sorry for any inconvenience, all of the key issues identified have now been resolved.

With Sky Go you can register two compatible devices and watch on both at the same time.  We appreciate that some customers have more than two devices; however we’re confident that the new device limits will meet the needs of the vast majority of customers.  Plus, we’ve increased the number of devices that you can register in a month and made it even easier to manage your Sky Go devices online so that if you find yourself away from your usual devices you can quickly change them so you don’t miss your favourite shows. All you need to do is log in at Skygo.com and click on settings.  From here you can remove devices, change their names, and manage parental controls.

With the launch of Sky Go online, you no longer need Sky Multiroom or Sky Broadband Unlimited to watch live TV on your laptop, PC or Mac as you can now watch up to 32 live channels as well as hundreds of hours of TV on demand for free (in line with your subscription).  What’s more,  with the relevant Sky TV package you can now watch Sky 1 and Sky Movies on both of your registered devices instead of just one primary device and use both at the same time making it easier to share with the family.

Thanks again for your patience, we’ll continue to answer your queries as quickly possible and keep you updated on changes and developments to Sky Go.

Re: Sky Go Update

People really to need know how many times they can change the registered devices around though, "a number of times" a month isn't really an answer, the person on the Sky twitter feed apparently said it was "7", can someone find out if this is correct, thanks.

Re: Sky Go Update

I agree with the previous poster, we need to know what the limit is to know what we are working with and avoid frustration.

"however we’re confident that the new device limits will meet the needs of the vast majority of customers.  Plus, we’ve increased the number of devices that you can register in a month"

What a great statement, do you actually read any of the posts on here and take them on board, virtually no one is happy with the device restrictions Sky have imposed with the T&C changes, it's a case of like them or lump them we don't care and you still haven't told us how many times the devices can be changed in a month.

A statement that does not answer the questions being asked is pretty pointless a week into the launch.

Re: Sky Go Update

Hi Everyone,

We have now received the following update regarding Sky Go Device registration.

Customers can manage their devices via the settings tab on Skygo.com. Each household can register up to 2 devices with subsequent registrations and changes subject to fair use. Due to this there isn’t a fixed number of changes that can be made on a monthly basis. To avoid confusion and setting the wrong expectation with customers we therefore cant’ communicate the number of changes you can make. However, be assured that If a customer reaches the device limit due to technical issues outside of their control the Sky Go support team can identity this and rectify this.

Thanks to everyone for their patience while we got clarification on this issue.

What a absolute joke, a shambles and a kick in the teeth to Sky's long standing customers this is :smileymad:, yes there is a limit to how many changes a month you can make, but we won't tell you how many that is to avoid confusion ?????? your causing confusion not avoiding it, unbelievable, but no more than expected from Sky nowadays.

Re: Sky Go Update

What's annoying me is that Scottish football fans suffer...ready for the epl season but screw Scottish football fans

I wasn't that bothered about the delay, rather have it working than constantly needing updated

Nevertheless an absolute shambles of an affair

Re: Sky Go Update

The mind boggles.  Maybe the pressure at the top of News Corp has filtered right  down to the Sky Go team.  Is one idiotic statement after another is all we customers deserve?

Re: Sky Go Update

I downloaded the Skygo app for my iPhone but when I try to use it it asks me to pay five pounds? I already pay £60 a month. Why do I have to pay more?

Re: Sky Go Update

Hi Rifdhi, the Android version of Sky Go will be out in the winter. I don't have any information about future availability on Nokia, sorry.
