Having read the tariff guide I see that UK Calls for Sky Talk are 01, 02, 0870.

Does this mean 0845 numbers are not included as they currecntly are in BT?

I understand that Sky do not allow 5 digit prefixes to jump calls to another network.

Do they allow 0844, 0845, 0871, 0870, 0800 numbers from other networks that can be dialled and then when answered the user can enter the number in. e.g. calling a number to call another number?

This is routing but without the prefix.

I have called the sky customer service 084424 and I was told its free.  I don't understand the call charges for NGN numbers, it seems like there is no fixed charge for them according to my bill.  I thought maximum call charge for 0845 numbers are 25p.  I am really hoping sky to reduce call charges to these number because no adays all companies using these numbers and they are costing us a lot.

All 0845 numbers are charged at the normal 0845 rate.

Thankfully providers like 1899 give you an 0808 or geographic number you can dial as an alternative.

I'm fast coming to the coclusion that Sky are after every penny they can get.

1 No outgoing call barring

2 Charge for 0845 calls

3 No prefix allowed to use another operator/carrier

A few years ago I had nothing but glowing reports about Sky, but no more.

I have a transcript of a chat with Sky saying that they do have outgoing call barring.  It's not uncommon for Sky staff to be economic with the truth in order to get sales.
