Hi laura87,
In order to assist further with your issue can you provide the following information?
I would advise following the steps in our Slow Connection Troubleshooting guide on the Help Centre as this will ensure you have the router and microfilters connected properly to get the best possible connection from your line.
Can you also provide the following information from your router:

There are two sockets in the house, a sky box is connected to each socket and microfilter is in place. The router is placed at the main telephone socket.
| 511 kbps | 796 kbps |
| 46.5 dB | 27.0 dB |
| 32.3 dB | 12.5 dB |
I saw that sky had set the download at 0.5Mb, when I was with another provider it was never this low.

Hi laura87,
Thanks for posting your stats, clearly from the Noise Margin sitting well above our target of 7.0dB your line has been capped quite low and you should be getting a much higher connection speed.
Please use the Contact Us page to report this to our Customer Help team, your line should be re-profiled to increase your connection speed.

Hi kl2006,
Thanks for posting your details, it's clear from your connection speed that your connection is not running fast enough to support streaming video content.
Can you tell us where your router is connected to your line? is it in your master socket?
Can you also navigate back to the page where you copied the stats provided above and scroll down, then click on Show Statistics and provide this information as it will let us see the line conditions.

extremely slow connection speed, i only have the internet for gaming, if this is as good as it gets i will be changing to virgin. can you shed any light on my problem? all the equipment is set up the way it should be microfilters etc so there is no problem here and the only phone line in the house is where it is connected.

Hi ,
Can you explane why my internet speed gone from 8meg to 3,2 mg over the last 3 weeks
my upload stream of 800 would give 8.meg
thanks Andy

Andy, there are a number of reasons why your download speeds may suffer but for us to have any idea we need a little more information. Post your router stats from the current router location and then get them agaion from your TEST socket.
You would also be better starting you own thread for your issue instead of jumping in on smeone elses, that way, replys will not get confused with each other.

My broadband is very slow most of the time, on some occassions it is so slow that web pages do not load. The rourter I have is over 4 years old - is this likely to be the problem??
The details of the speed test are:

I have had broadband from Sky for over 4 years. The speed has only been an issue for the past few months, could the problem be the router - should I get a new one

Hi Dipak,
Thank you for posting your router stats, would you mind advising what Broadband package you subscribe to?
Are these stats taken from your master or test phone socket?

Hi Mat2,
From the stats you have posted your router is indicating that it's connected at approximately 3Mbps, this is the maximum speed your line can currently handle based on the stats you have provided.
Can you confirm where your router is connected to the line, is it in the master socket or on an extension? Can you also tell us what speed you were quoted you would receive?
Note speed test results from online sites are not accurate and can vary depending on the server you connect to and how busy that server is.
