I was put on a gamer profile for ps3 and my ping was quite stable, now it's all over again. it used to join games of <75 (which is still a little high and lags) now it's more like <125
can anyone help?

Here is the same problem but a different ip again spiking on the 2nd hop. Had the same issue a while back so can sympathize its irritating hope it gets picked up by someone.

@Malcol.M I am on the shrewsbury exchange and have this same issue with high pings during peak times, a number of people in Shrospshire on this forum and elsewhere have reported the same issue.
@Rachel.B go to Samknows and put your phone or postal code in and it will tell you.

Would it not be best to test to the same server on a designated service such as pingtest.net and also see if you get slow downs correlating to these results in the evening with speedtest.net (run one after the other). Might be better than the BBC which is a high volume site which will likely get more traffic in the evenings...
Basically you would need to prove to technical support that there is a fault by providing as much info as possible.
Also worth bearing in mind that different games work in different ways so test multiple games out. Some games will work on servers hosted by the publisher (better as long as they are UK based). Other games with connect to other users and use them as a server which is then very much Dependant on that players connection (more importantly the upstream). In some games you can also be the server which is ideal (maybe not so for the other players if you have the bad upload ;-)
