Before you get started, ensure :

-          That your Nintendo 3DS is switched

-          That your Sky router is connected to the internet

There are two ways to connect your Nintendo 3DS to the internet wirelessly. You can follow the Tutorial built into your Nintendo 3DS or you can set up the connection manually.

Connect to the internet using the tutorial

  1. In the Home Menu, go to System Settings.
  2. Tap on Internet Settings with the stylus.
  3. Tap on Connection Settings.
  4. Tap New Connection.
  5. From this point, follow the tutorial stored on your Nintendo 3DS.
  6. If you need further help at any point during the tutorial, tap the Connection Assistant.

Connect to the internet manually

You can find these on the Keep me handy card that came with your Sky router and on the side or bottom or your Sky router. Unless you've changed it, your wireless network name will be something like “SKY” followed by five numbers. For example SKY 12345.

  1. If your Wireless Network is password-protected, please enter the Network Key using the on-screen keyboard.

You'll find the Network Key printed beneath your Wireless Network Name on your Sky router and the Connect card or Keep me handy card. The Network Key is sometimes known as the Password. Always enter your password using capital letters. If you see any circles, these are identified as letter O’s, rather than zeros.

  1. Your connection settings will be saved and the system will automatically test if you are properly connected to your access point and to the Internet.

If you experience issues…

If you experience problems getting online, check to see if you can get online using another device such as your computer. If you can’t get online, see our Sky Broadband connection problems article the problem is likely to be with your internet connection. If you can view websites with your computer and the problem is only affecting your games console, you need to refer to the manufacturer's instructions
