my sky box says it has been updated and i only need my ethernet cable to get on demand do i still ne

my sky box this morning that it has been updated saying i only need my ethernet cable to watch sky on demand do i still need a phone line in my home.

You only need the phone line connected to the box if you want to use the interactive stuff or if you havent been a sky customer for 12 months.

We are committed to contiually developing our Sky product to be the innovative and offer our Customer's the best value and service from Sky.

 

We have recently introduced some amazing new features to some of our Sky+ HD boxes (with the remainder being updated later this summer) including the ability to book Sky Store On Demand movies simply by connecting your Sky box to your Broadband router, without the need to connect your telephone line. If you have recently had this new feature enabled to your Sky+HD box then the great news is you no longer would require a telephone line connected to your box to access a world of Sky Store On Demand.

 

Please note you would require a telephone line connection to access any interactive services. 

 

**The On Demand Sky Store telephone free connection is only available on compatible HD boxes and for those customers with a single Sky Box in their home. Multiroom subscribers will require to connect their Sky boxes using a telephone line to access these services**

My one wont update and I have read it over and over again and it just won't work

Thanks you for your post. Can you confirm the version and model number for your Sky box please?

 

This can be done by following these steps:

 

  1. Press 'Services' on your Sky remote
  2. Highlight 'Settings' and press 'Select'
  3. Highlight 'Details' and press 'Select'
