Well-known anti-virus software!

[ Edited ]

Do make sure to have a valid virus scanner installed upon your computer! Make sure to only use very well-known organizations for your chosen anti-virus software! - This is due to some possible phony companies out there whom were recently mentioned about upon either Fox/Sky News, who would claim to supply a genuine virus scanner by presenting you with pop-ups to use them, but when you use them they do place a virus on to your computer, and then they would clean out all your bank accounts!

Any pop-ups that get presented to you while you are browsing the net, offering you anything - just, CLOSE THEM - & FAST!

Here are some of the top organizations upon the market today:-

Comodo http://www.comodo.com/products/comodo-products.php

eScan http://www.escanav.com/english/

F-Secure http://www.f-secure.com/en_US/

Kaspersky http://usa.kaspersky.com/

McAfee http://www.mcafee.com/us/ for McAfee 3-User Total Protection.

Panda Security http://www.pandasecurity.com/homeusers/? for Panda Global Protection 2011 & above

Symantec http://www.symantecstore.com/dr/v2/ec_main.entry25?page=TrialwareEU2&client=Symantec&sid=27684 for Norton 360

Trend Micro http://emea.trendmicro.com/emea/home/

Vipre Antivirus http://www.vipreantivirus.com/

Notice:- Only For All New Sky Broadband Customers & not pre-exsisting Sky Broadband Customers:smileyembarrassed: Use your full Sky Primary User ID - (Sky e-mail address) to download your free 12 months Sky/McAfee 3 User Internet Security

Here is the correct Sky download link for your free 12 months Sky/McAfee 3 User Internet Security http://www.sky.com/portal/site/skycom/securitycentre/article?contentid=3310110&DCMP=ILC-SkyCOM_mcaf...

Just select McAfee Security which takes you to http://www.sky.com/helpcentre/broadband/security-centre/mcafee-internet-security-suite/ & then here do select Download McAfee Internet Security Suite

Should either or both of your graphics display drivers & software + Sky E-mail & Tools buttons not be displaying correctly it might be one of three things:- it's either a web browser with some sort of an imcompatibility issue or an anti-virus-scanner imcompatibility issue or a graphics drivers & software related issue - or even a combination of both anti-virus software & graphics drivers + graphics software related issues, then do be sure to update your display drivers & software for your machine & also use an alternative web browser & anti-virus software - ASAP!

Please note:- Both F-Secure & Trend Micro are definately not compatible with either ATI & nVIDIA Graphics cards at all, as the F-Secure anti-virus software trys to incorrectly un-install all your display drivers that are installed, as F-Secure has some sort of a possible software issues as F-Secure anti-virus software is definately not compatible with any ATI & nVIDIA Graphics cards, so don't use either F-Secure or Trend Micro with any AMD machine at all, as Trend Micro Titanium Maximum Security v5 software does cause some types of display issues upon AMD machines!

Should any of those anti-virus software not be fully compatible with your system, or even if these fail for some reasons or another, then try using "Microsoft Security Essentials" http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/security_essentials/default.aspx it's free!

About those adult sites & similar sorts of sites et cetera:-

It´s possibly in your best interests to avoid visiting any of those adult sites & similar sorts of sites as these sites could generate spam to your inboxes - or if there is a real need to use them, then rather try using disposable e-mail addresses for conducting any forms of business within these sites including purchases et cetera!

Thanks. Xen.

Re: Well-known anti-virus software!

Hi readerton,

Can you tell us if there is a McAfee icon in your task bar in the bottom right corner of your screen or in the Start Menu when you select All Programs?

Did you receive any error messages when you initially downloaded and attempted to install McAfee from our website?

If you have found McAfee on your computer, please open this and let us know what comes and if there are any issues activating the software when following the on-screen prompts.

Thanks.

Re: Well-known anti-virus software!

[ Edited ]

One thing that could be an issue is that McAfee may not be fully compatible with your chosen computer system + installed software!

In this case - should any of these anti-virus software that you might be trying to use not be fully compatible with your system, or even if these fail for some reasons, then why not try using "Microsoft Security Essentials" http://www.microsoft.com/security_essentials/?mkt=en-us & at no costs to you!

- So therefore you could try to rather use:-

Microsoft Security Essentials- This product is fully available as a FreeBie from Microsoft & at no costs to you - providing that your chosen Windows operating system is both a genuine version & also has been activated!

Re: Well-known anti-virus software!

Hi

there is no Macfee icon on my screen or on the programme list, but when i search in 'my computer' a list of macfee things pop up.

Actutally something did happen when i was downloading it, my computer automatically installed spme updates and I was unable to stop them, the screen went black and then i continued to try and install the macfee.

Hi there: Appologies for this late response!

Your Quote"Please help - I have an up to date antii anti virus( Norton ) installed - but I keep getting people saying they have received emails - ( Viagra ETC ) That I have never sent - some are sent in the early hours of the morning . I have scaned my lap top several times"

Yes you can use your Norton product Symantec http://www.symantecstore.com/dr/v2/ec_main.entry25?page=TrialwareEU2&client=Symantec&sid=27684 as I use use Norton 360 v5.0 which is good for both OEM & retail residential Windows computer systems!

As with those lousy Spam Troubles w/my conclusions:- Any Viagra e-mail or any forms of spam being received, please don´t open any spam at all due to some sorts of possible viruses that are possibly contained somewhere within them - so just report each of these spam e-mail once received in turn, & then delete each spam only once reported afterwards by possibly deleting these in batches!

If you still get these even after a few weeks of reporting them, then do consider moving on to an alternative & a dedicated ISP that don´t have these sorts of spam issues!

Thanks. Xen.

Re: Well-known anti-virus software!

Hi readerton,

Thanks for that, it sounds like the McAfee installation was interrupted or aborted by the Windows Updates, have you tried to download and install McAfee again since this happened?

Please visit www.sky.com/mcafee and click on the download button, you'll be prompted to sign in with your Sky iD username and password to continue with the download.
