If its possible could you try all of the following please.......
Important: "In order to rectify this issue, we will delete the Playready folder. This also deletes the licenses for all content protected by Microsoft's Playready licensing, including all downloaded Sky Go files.
If using a standard Internet connection, it might be that the playback of DRM protected content is off; this stops Sky Go’s connection to the server.
To turn back on:
Uninstall Microsoft Silverlight
How to show all folders.
To delete the PlayReady folder follow the steps below:
Reinstall Microsoft Silverlight

Couldn't launch Sky Go and Log in because I can't download the Sky Go desktop
re- installed Silverlight
Tried to install Sky Go desk top and got exactly the same problem !!!
A window opens saying
Sky Go Desk Top - go.sky.com
Navifgation to the web page was cancelled
What You Can Try - Re-type the address
File download box comes up
Do you want to save this file?
Name - Index html
Type - HTML Document 2.50Kb
From - C:\Users\Andy\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Silver...
I can't read the rest of the string
If I save this, when I click on the Sky Go icon on the desktop, iy takes me to this same page.
I'm going mad with this

Unintsall Microsoft Silverlight again and also reboot your computer before trying again.

We can see that you have followed all the troubleshooting we would advise, what I suggest you do is follow the contact us journey to the Sky Go team and they will investigate the problem further for you.
Hope that this helps you to get the issue fixed.
Please let us know what you are advised from this department and if this solves your problem.

Just wondering if the problem was ever resolved - have been having the same problem for the last couple of weeks after recently installing Sky Go on my laptop. Worked fine the first few times I used it but since about the 17th October have not been able to start the player and have the same message asking me save the file but then not doing anything.
Any help would be appreciated.

Im having this same exact problem, I have uninstalled Silverlight & Sky Go Player (Multiple times), when I open the sky go desktop, it sas the same as other posters and asks me to open/save, when clicking open, it re-directs me to the following address;
(Just a point, the address that it tries to re-direct me to does not have any of the ampersands in it, but when I copy and past in here, it does!)
Firefox is my default browser

Pathetic same issue as all of these, i spent over an hour with an online help member and they repeated all the troubleshooting steps i have already done, i even went as far as reverting my computer to factory settings as it came out the box. Offering a service that too many cant use. I am relatively technically minded and even had my IT guys at work look into the depths of my computer for any traces of sky software anywhere and they found nothing. Silverlight is fully upto date, i cant download the dekstop or even use the browser version to just watch a one off program or something.

Are any error messages displayed?
What device are you using, PC/Laptop or Mac?
What operating system are you running?
What web browser are you using?
