How do I change from Wep setting to Wpa on my router?

Hi

Ive been reading some posts on the forums and am worried that currently my securty is through a Wep code and this isn't the safest. Also I am now receving letters from Sky to advise that I am going over my 2GB usage, even though I am not doing anything different over the last 6 month. Can you please advise how I change my router to a Wpa secure code please. Thanks

Type 192.168.0.1 into your address bar in your browser, where you type the www internet addresses and use these details:

Username - admin

Password - sky

And scroll down the page and bit and you can make this change.

Re: How do I change from Wep setting to Wpa on my router?

Hi NickyB4

Thanks for your post about changing the security on your router.

The router is set to WPA-PSK2 security by default so you will only be using WEP security if you have changed the settings already. If you would like to change your security from WPA to WEP then you can get help doing this by clicking here.

I hope this helps. If you need anything else then give us a shout.

Thanks,

Re: How do I change from Wep setting to Wpa on my router?

i also had this problem i thought i only had wep but i think one of my teenage children or one of there friends had changed the security to no security so they had access to my wifi so i would advice you not only to change to wpa but also give yourself a very good wifi password and also change the router password and not keep the default due to it being on the side of your router and so easy for any visitor to your home just to read and use as they want too
