I got a letter about watching bbc iplayer on catch up on my sky+ box. I set up the wired connection and it now shows sky programmes when I press the red button for on demand but doesn't show catch up. I checked the version number of my box and your help forum says my box should already have it. Why can I not see iplayer?

Can you read this and let us know the make of your box:

My version begins with 4F31 so that is why I thought I should be able to access BBC iplayer as it says on your help page:
"If you have a version beginning with 4F31, then you have an Amstrad DRX890 orDRX895. You should already have the new Sky Guide."

You should be able to download the new software to your box by doing this:
Switch off at the mains,
Press and hold the backup button on the Sky box
Switch on at the mains keeping the Backup button pressed
When all 4 LEDS light on the front of the Sky box, release the Backup button.
You should see an on screen message advising the software is updating.

I followed your instructions and it updated and showed me the video telling me how the on demand service worked but then when I pressed the on demand button I can still only see a list of programmes on sky channels and BBC iplayer still does not appear.
